The 37th MBA Rugby World Cup, organized by Duke University graduate students, promises lots of competition and diversity.

We are setting a new benchmark for future editions and we hope the event continues to grow.
- Rylan Collins

With more than 20 squads from 16 top business schools, this year’s edition is expected to set a new record of attendance and athlete’s participation in Danville, Virginia, traditional host city of the event. The Cup expect rugby teams from 4 different countries (USA, Canada, England and Ireland) in two categories, men’s and women’s, combining more than 1000 players.

According to Rylan Colins, Duke Grad Rugby Club president, the 2017 edition will take the event to a new level: “The planning and commitment with this year’s event were far beyond expectations. In the organization side, we launched the event earlier to allow a bigger time frame for teams to decide about their logistics and schedules. And the teams responded quickly, with almost 30 confirmed registrations in early February. We are setting a new benchmark for future editions and we hope the event continues to grow.”

The MBA RWC will be played from April 7 to 9 at the Anglers Park fields in Danville, VA. Admission to the games is free.

Duke Grad Rugby Club is sponsored by SoFi-Social Finance, Severn Trent Services and The Social Gameroom & Tap.
