Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 Carshalton Athletic

Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 Carshalton Athletic

Liam Hickey24 Aug 2013 - 16:32

Dulwich completed a victory that was more emphatic than the scoreline shows and stay second in the table

Dulwich opened brightly and it was no surprise when a fine passing move that started deep in their own half involving Peter Adeniyi and Erhun Oztumer saw the ball transferred to the right and Dean Lodge finished emphatically low to the keeper's right.to give them a 15th minute lead.

Just a couple of minutes later a Kevin James free kick whistled past the post with the keeper scrambling to get close. It was Nyren Clunis who was next to go close before Erhun Oztumer brought a fine save from the Carshalton keeper.
.
A dominant first half was marred by an injury to Harry Ottaway who had to be carried off after a collision with the keeper that has left him with a broken leg.

Dulwich quickly doubled their lead at the start of the second half as a Kevin James free kick found an unmarked Mathieu Boyer who converted at the far post and Dulwich then remained in the ascendancy as Erhun Oztumer pulled the strings whilst the defence kept the visitos at arms length.

However, a rare mistake by Phil Wilson offered Carshalton a way back into the game as he allowed a speculative Tommy Bradford shot to squirm under his body on what was by now a very slippery surface.

This gave the visitors hope that was to be extinguished by Erhun Oztumer with 2 minutes remaining. He drifted in fron the right before striking a shot home left footed from the edge of the box.
