Following on from our announcement earlier in the week about the South London 4 South London campaign, we are proud to announce the first charity we’ll be supporting.
As part of this weekend’s match day against Welling United, we will be shining a spotlight upon and supporting the charity - Walk and Talk Men’s Mental Health.
Hopefully familiar to Dulwich fans, Walk and Talk is a campaign group that aim to open up the conversations on mental health, raise awareness, and prevent male suicide. Every day in the UK, 12 men take their own lives, and the equivalent of over 7 football teams a week. The team are compelled that the shocking statistics have to change.
Dulwich Hamlet manager, Gavin Rose, has chosen this charity as it supports and highlights an important message about mental health.
As part of this, we will be running our second Walk and Talk event of the season. On Saturday 15th February 2020, fans are invited to join fellow supporters on a pre match walk from Welling Utd to Champion Hill. Further details of about the walk can be found here.
Over the course of the next few days, we’ll be sharing more information about this wonderful charity including match day programme notes about their fantastic work.
As well as shouting about their invaluable work, we’ll be donating the club’s share of Saturday's 50/50 raffle money to the Walk and Talk campaign. This money will be donated to the newly formed Walk and Talk MMH charity. Please make sure you buy plenty of 50/50 tickets to support this great cause!
If you would like to make a donation to Walk and Talk outside of Saturday's 50/50 raffle, please email our community team: firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see as many of you as possible on the walk on Saturday!
