Hamlet sign striker Dylan Gavin on a one month loan from Addicks

Paul Barnes has continued to be busy in the loan market with as we welcome 20-year-old Dylan Gavin to Champion Hill from Charlton Athletic.

The young forward is well-known to the coaching staff, with assistant manager Daniel Gill also a youth team coach at the Addicks, working with Gavin.

The forward has been with Charlton since 2020 after moving from his native Republic of Ireland, where he was a youngster with the likes of Athlone Town, winning a League of Ireland championship at Under 15 level.

Since arriving in south London, Dylan has made one senior appearance for the Addicks, which came off the bench in a 3-1 win over Leyton Orient in the EFL Trophy in November 2020.

Dylan has a good level of experience of the National League South too, having spent some time out on loan at Billericay Town last season, scoring nine times in 18 games in all competitions, including scoring against the Hamlet back in February in a 2-0 defeat we suffered in Essex.

This season has seen Dylan loaned out twice more, firstly for a spell at Tonbridge Angels, where he netted twice in 13 games between August and December, and more recently he has been playing at Welling United. Indeed, his debut for the Wings coincided with our last victory, that 4-2 win at Park View Road in January.

During his month with us, Dylan will be given the number 7 shirt with Kalvin Kalala continuing to sit on the sidelines through injury. He is also available to make his debut at Worthing.

Welcome Dylan, looking forward to seeing you on the pitch!
