Gavin Rose named an unchanged starting side as The Hamlet went looking for their place in The emirates FA Cup 1st Round.

It was the home side who got off to the brighter start, forcing two corners in the opening four minutes but the threat from the Dulwich front two quickly became apparent as Ade Yusuff nearly latched on to a flick by Danny Mills and it was Dulwich who grabbed an 11th minute lead. A long throw from Jack Connors was flicked on by Danny Mills to Christian Smith. His initial header was brilliantly saved by Worner but he followed up and headed in from a tight angle to open the scoring.

The home side stormed back and Fogden saw an effort fly just too high, but the home defence looking shaky under pressure and Walton was lucky to be awarded a foul against Yusuff when he was outmuscled just inside the penalty area, as Yusuff would have been clear on goal. Ade Yusuff then wasted a great chance to double the lead in the 15th Minute. He chased his own flick on and got clear of the home defence, but snatched his shot wide when he should have rolled the ball to Danny Mills for a tap in.

However, the second goal arrived in the 18th minute and what a strike it was. Danny Mills found Aaron Barnes with a cross-field pass and the Dulwich wing back cut in from the right flank before striking an unstoppable shot across Worner into the top corner of the net.

The Hamlet had the ball in the net again in the 27th minute but Christian Smith was offside following a Dominic Vose shot, and a minute later the home side halved the deficit. A corner was not properly cleared and the ball fell to Rutherford who fired home through a crowd of bodies.

The home side now put Dulwich under considerable pressure and Ayunga snatched at a good chance but The Hamlet maintained their composure and half time arrived with no further alarms for the visitors.

Half Time 1-2

Havant & Waterlooville pressed at the start of the second half, but there were no clear chances at either end as defences were resolute, although crosses from Ben Chapman and Danny Mills caused some panic in the home side. In fact, Dulwich were inches away froma third goal on the hour as Jack Connors struck an effort that beat Worner but also the far post.

The home side were forcing plenty of set pieces but the Dulwich defence was strong and it wasn't until the 71st minute that they could consider themselves fortunate as an effort from Drury was blocked but seized on by Rutherford. However, the defence managed to deflect his effort wide for a corner. Havant & Waterlooville went even closer in the 74th minute as Ayunga saw his effort cleared off the line.

Drury saw his 77th minute effort well held by Grainger and Ayunga passed up a chance with four minutes remaining, but Dulwich were absorbing the pressure well as the referee indicated an additional five minutes to be played at the nd of the ninety.

As the home side pressed, it seemed more likely that Dulwich would break up field as they utilised their pace to force the home side back and force two corners. However, time went well beyond the 5 minutes indicated and in the ninth minute of added time the home side had a glorious chance to force a replay. Drury lifted the ball into the six yard box and Charlie Grainger produced a remarkable stop from point blank range.

As he held the ball and looked to clear up field, the final whistle saw jubilant scenes both on and off the pitch.

Final Score 1-2
