Both sets of Club officials were spotted having cosy chats over cups of tea in the Imperial Fields boardroom in Saturday, & whispers suggest that the only way our local rivals can emulate ourselves is to join up with us.
Post-match their manager Phil Simpson was filmed praising the Dulwich Hamlet team & supporters, which gave rise to the rumour that he was keen to join forces. Hamlet manager Gavin Rose, along with his coaching team of Junior Kadi & Kevin Rose were seen huddled in deep conversation in the bar with some of the Terrors management team, to pour extra fuel onto the fiery story.
It is not known how supporters from both sides will react, but one 'source' told our website team that it would be on equal terms, with the two historic club names being merged. The first two words of DULWICH HAMLET Football Club would be kept, as would the last two of Tooting & Mitcham United FOOTBALL CLUB.
Club colours are yet to be decided, but it is believed that the Dulwich part of Pink & Blue shirts, shorts & socks will be kept, whilst the traditional black & white stripes of Tooting will be retained, as the new outfit will become the first in the country to be the first to make players wear official underwear, by having black & white pants.
We are hoping to have an official statement from our club later today, hopefully at around twelve o'clock.
