Splatt Joins Leatherhead

Midfielder opts to make his loan move permanent

Hamlet midfielder Jamie Splatt has opted to join Leatherhead on a permanent basis.

The 21-year-old moved to Fetcham Grove on an initial loan deal for the remainder of the season at the beginning of January, and has now decided to make the move a lasting one.

Since arriving at the Step 4 side, Jamie has made six appearances, mainly at right-back for Hayden Bird's side.

He departs Champion Hill having made 15 first team appearances for the Hamlet, with seven of those coming this season. This included starting four of Paul Barnes's first six games in charge of the club, before a foot injury ruled him out of contention from mid-October until the end of November. His final appearance for the club came in our 2-1 loss at home to Dartford.

Jamie is a graduate of Gavin Rose's Aspire Academy, and made his first-team debut at the tender age of 17, appearing as a late substitute for Tanasheh Abrahams in a London Senior Cup match at Glebe in September 2018.

It would be more than a year later until he made his second appearance, which again came in the London Senior Cup, and brought his first start as the Hamlet won 5-1 against AFC Croydon Athletic at Champion Hill.

Loan spells at Merstham and Staines Town followed that season, working under Paul Barnes during the latter, before a spell with Westfield during the shortened 2020-21 season.

Last season, he came off the bench to score on his Hamlet league debut, netting a penalty in our 6-0 victory at Hemel Hempstead Town, and in the process became the first men's player to score for the club having been born in the 2000s.

Five more appearances would follow over the course of the campaign, including a very impressive one on the final day of the campaign against Hemel, with Jamie having enjoyed loans at VCD Athletic, Carshalton Athletic and Whitehawk during the season, before being handed a contract this season.

Everyone at Dulwich would like to wish Jamie the very best in his future career, and for his performances and commitment during his time at the club, good luck Splatty!
