Biography

GAVIN ROSE (Manager): Former midfielder who is the Club’s longest serving manager, having taken charge of over 550 games since August 2009. Originally with the Club in season 2002/03, when he made 40 first team appearances whilst doubling up as youth team manager, he has also had spells with Wimbledon, Charlton Athletic, QPR, Southend United, Bromley, Gravesend & Northfleet and Walton & Hersham amongst others during his long career. In recent years he has been involved in running the Aspire Academy which specialises in coaching youngsters and he also had managerial experience with Beckenham Town whom he led to within a whisker of the Kent League championship. Under his guidance, Hamlet won the Isthmian South title in 2012/13, after reaching the divisional play-off final in each of the previous two seasons; and made it to the Premier Division play-off final three seasons running, defeating Hendon on penalties in the 2017/18 final to gain a coveted place in the National League South. In addition, they were quarter-finalists in the FA Trophy in 2016/17 and have twice reached the Isthmian League Cup Final during his stay. In 2012/13 he became the first Hamlet boss to win a Manager of the Year award.
