A team that showed many unfamiliar faces who have not yet signed for the season found themselves a goal down and on the back foot early in the match.
There was little control in the midfield until Michael Timlin was introduced around the half hour mark, as his probing passes began to open up the home defence. With half time approaching, Korrey Henry saw his effort crash out off the bar, but VCD maintained their lead until the break.
However, Henry equalised within the first minute of the second half, as his effort from the edge of the box this time found the top corner. This saw The Hamlet take more control of the game and it was no surprise when, with 11 minutes remaining, a flowing move down the right released Sanchez Ming to put Dulwich ahead.
That seemed to be enough until an innocuous free kick into the penalty area in the last minute was easily cleared by the Dulwich keeper, but to everybody's surprise the referee pointed to the spot for a foul only he had seen. This penalty was confidently converted to give the home side a draw.
Final Score 2-2
