Gavin Rose named an unchanged line-up as Dulwich lifted themselves away from the relegation zone with a comprehensive demolition of Braintree Town.

It was the visitors who opened the stronger and went very close to taking the lead in the 3rd minute when Chiedozie headed against the top of the bar having been left unmarked. However, that was actually as close as they would come to a goal all afternoon and they would fall a goal behind in just the 6th minute. Lionel Ainsworth was given room of the left and his cross was headed home at the far post by Dulwich captain Quade Taylor.

The game was evenly balanced and Oyinsan headed another good chance wide just two minutes after The Hamlet took the lead. Despite this, there were clear signs of vulnerability in the Braintree defence as Ainsworth was allowed to run 50 yards unchallenged before finding Jeffrey Monakana, whose effort was blocked.

In the 18th minute Aaron Barnes switched play from left to right glorious cross field pass to Jeffrey Monakana whose ball into the penalty area was taken off the toe of Dominic Vose, leading to a break that finished with ex Hamlet player Rhys Murrell-Williamson shooting straight at Charlie Grainger.

Dulwich doubled their lead in the 20th minute as Lional Ainsworth switched the ball to the right, Ben Chapman delivered a low cross and the ball fell to Shamir Mullings to stroke home his first goal for the club.

For a while Braintree sought a way back into the match as both Oyinsan and Chiedozie had glimpses of goal but in the 28th minute Dulwich added a third. Jesse Debrah sent a long ball forward that was seized upon by Shamir Mullings to slot home a third for The Hamlet.

Dylan Kearney went close and Quade Taylor struck a volley just wide, before Dulwich added a fourth in time added on at the end of the half. Dylan Kearney, as he has done ever since arriving at the club, chased what appeared a lost cause. After winning the ball he came away from goal before being brought down just inside the penalty area. Jeffrey Monakana stepped up and sent John son the wrong way with his penalty and send The Hamlet into the break four goals ahead.

Half Time 4-0

The Hamlet opened the second half brightly as Ben Chapman saw his shot saved low to his right by Johnson within the opening minute. However, for long periods they seemed content to hold on to what they had and wait for the chance to expose the frailties of the opposition.

Dylan Kearney saw a shot blocked and Charlie Grainger had to save a low effort after an Aaron Barnes mistake, whilst Lionel Ainsworth dragged a shot wide in the 71st minute. However, the lull in proceedings was ended by two goals in two minutes. First, in the 80th minute, David Ijaha won the ball in midfield and threaded a pass to Danny Mills who was running free on goal and he confidently beat Johnson.

However, Dulwich saved the best goal for last with the final goal in the 82nd minute. Jeffrey Monakana received the ball wide on the left, cut in on his right foot and sent a stunning shot high into the top corner for a sixth Hamlet goal.

That was the final chance of the game as Dulwich recorded their biggest win in the National League South.
