Dunfermline U15s beat GHA
By Kevin Storie
Strong first half performance from Dunfermline seals victory
Dunfermline U15s put together an excellent first half performance, scoring 9 unanswered tries, in what was one of our best halves of rugby this season. Within the first minute, Duncan pounced on a loose ball in midfield and carried into the 22, popping the ball to Charlie in close support who scored under the posts.
From the restart, GHA had a period of pressure, eventually reulting in a scrum to Dunfermline on their 5m line. From here we attacked stongly up the left flank with some excellent support play, then put the ball through hands across to the right wing, before sweeping the ball back to the left with Gregor on hand to score.
Three further tries from Gregor, three from Finlee, and one from an excellent line break from Kian completed the first half scores, with Andrew converting half of his kicks.
Half time: Dunfermline 53 - 0 GHA
The second half started with GHA on the attack, a good direct move through multiple phases, finished off with a pick and go from a ruck 10m out. This score seemed to settle GHA and the rest of the match was an even affair, with both teams playing good rugby. Some good defence from Dunfermline kept GHA out for the rest of the game, while GHA also defended well. Logan K was held across the line in one attack, before being on hand to finish another. Duncan completed the scoring by supporting an attack and out-flanking the defence on the right.
Final Score: Dunfermline 67 - 5 GHA
Thanks to GHA for staying determined and positive, and making a good match of it, especially in the second half. A good bunch of lads who we wish all the best to in their upcoming matches.
