Nathan Melrose tells us about his great day out with the Scotland squad

On Sunday the 27th of February a young Duns Player felt what it feels like to run out onto the Murrayfield turf in front of 64,000 people,

Nathan Melrose (Pictured with his signed Scotland ball) was selected by Duns Rugby Club to represent us at the recent international against Ireland, after lots of preparation the magical hour arrived and Nathan, along with many other budding young players ran out with the national team.

Nathan said "I was very nervous but had a great time"

"Singing "Flower of Scotland" was brilliant and a lot of people in Duns have stopped me to say they say me on the tele. My favorite part of the day was meeting all the players after the game, I met Sean Lamont, Max Evans, Al Kellock and loads more, but my favorite was Ross Ford"

Nathan also said "I would like to thank Duns Rugby Club for giving me the chance to take part in one of the best days of my life. I will never forget the feeling of running out onto the pitch. It was an honor to be chosen and I would like to thank the club for all they did, and hopefully one day I will do it again...but I'll be running out as a player!"

Duns Rugby Club would like to congratulate Nathan on representing us in such a tremendous fashion and we are are very glad he had such a fantastic day...and one day we hope we WILL be cheering him on as a player!
