Dunvant 2nds win comfortably at home 31-0
Dunvant score 4 tries in the first half to comfortably beat Seven Sisters in a home friendly
An early 1pm kick off allowed both teams to get settled to watch the six nations games. The wind had blown hard all morning which dried the pitch and made for good conditions for the two sides.
Dunvant started strong with some great scrummaging from front rom Ceri Davies, Lesley Cole and Darren Godard, which gave the backs a solid platform to build from. However, the first two tries came from the forwards with Second Row, Morgan Bevan squeezing over in the far right hand corner as Ben Ley took the ball to the blindside and Number 8, Mark Loughlin finishing off a controlled driving maul in the other corner. Dannie White was successful with one of the two difficult touch line conversions and the score was 12-0 after 20mins.
The next try came from a well-executed back line move with Centre Adam William’s pass putting Full Back Tom Davies into the gap for an excellent score. The next try was created by some wizardry from both Winger Nicolas Maestri and Adam Williams running from inside their own half to eventually put supporting Scrum Half Ben Ley over in the far-right hands corner. Dannie White converted, and the half time score was 24-0.
The second half saw many changes to the Dunvant side and although some good rugby was played the only score came from dependable Winger Tom Gigg in the far-left hand corner, which was again converted, making the full time score 31-0 to Dunvant.
Next week the 2nds have Kenfig Hill at home in the Ospreys League. After narrowly losing 21-12 away 2 weeks ago this will be one Dunvant will be looking to turn around. It should be a good day Saturday with both the 1sts and 2nds at home.
