Even though Dunvant finished 2nd just above the Starch in 3rd last season they outgunned us on both occasions winning 5-16 at Broadacre and 42-37 in an absolute thriller at Gowerton . This season they got a 3rd consecutive victory against us winning 15-22 at Broadacre last September but the return game on December 29th was postponed as Gowerton couldn’t raise a side for which they were docked 2 points. At that time Gowerton were riding high in 2nd place with 8 wins and 4 defeats whilst Dunvant were in 6th place with 5 wins from 8. Since then Gowerton have played 9 more games, winning 3 but losing 6 to slide down the table into 9th place. Dunvant have also run into patchy form with a lengthy injury list but are in 5th place with 2 games still to play. The table is so tight with only 7 points between Crymych in 8th and Llangennech in 2nd that Dunvant need only 1 win and 4 points from today’s game or next week’s home game against relegated Kidwelly to finish in 2nd place for the 2nd consecutive year.
This is going to be another feisty, tough and fiercely contested game against our nearest rivals so we need the Broadacre faithful to make the short journey down the track to Gowerton in support of our young team.
We also wish the best of luck to our 2nd team who are in the Ospreys West regional play off semi finals at Llandarcy Institute of Sport where they will play Tondu at 2.15. In the other play off Bonymaen will play Kenfig Hill at 4.00 p.m.
