We last met at Broadacre on Boxing Day 2017 when Gorseinon, on a run of 7 consecutive defeats to Dunvant, grabbed their Xmas present to go home with a 21-12 victory. This will be our first encounter with them this season as they postponed our home fixture scheduled for 24th November and we will now play that game at Broadacre on April 13th.
Gorseinon currently sit in 9th place with7 wins and 6 defeats in 13 games played. They have scored 27 tries and have 4 bonus points for 32 league points. They will be keen for a home victory today to rise away from the potential 10th placed relegation spot currently occupied by Llanelli Wanderers and of course to get a victory over Dunvant.
Dunvant currently sit in 6th place with 9 wins and 4 defeats in their 13 games. We have currently scored 42 tries, have 8 bonus points for 42 league points. There are currently only 4 points between 8th placed Aberystwyth and 3rd placed Llangennech so a bonus point win for any team can make a significant difference to the league table. This should be a closely fought contest with our near neighbours and whoever has the loudest supporters can make a big difference to the outcome.
Elsewhere our 2nds are now playing Seven Sisters away in the 1st round of the Swansea District Vaughan Sound Challenge Cup whilst our Youth team host Gorseinon Youth in an Ospreys C league fixture.
