At the tender age of 8, Max was inspired by the awesome talent of Newcastle Falcons' Inga Tuigamala - described by Max as a 'walking highlight reel, all huge collisions, perfect offloads and serious gas wrapped up in the nicest guy possible' - to pick up the ball and play.

Coming through the ranks of our Mini and Junior squads, Max has had very brief spells with Sheffield RFC and Consett RFC but remains blue and gold through and through. He made his City 1st XV debut in a tough game against Morpeth RFC, made even harder for Max after he lost a contact lens in the opening minutes ! Sadly we went on to lose the game 47-5 but Max has been a regular feature in both our 1st XV and City Saracens ever since. He also gives his Sunday mornings to teaching Rugbytots, introducing the game to our stars of tomorrow.

Known to his friends as Maori, Max can usually be found at Full Back or out on the Wing.
