Durham City U10’s v’s West Hartlepool U10’s

Durham City U10’s welcomed West Hartlepool U10’s to a foggy and chilly Hollow Drift and with both clubs able to field two full teams with substitutes and the space for a second pitch, all squads played a full game with a second shorter training game to finish off the morning. Although depleted with a large number of City players not available or possibly put off by the cold and foggy conditions, both City squads had strength in depth with the experienced players and relative new comers all contributing some great attacking rugby as well as solid defence. Most impressively, the City defence for both squads was excellent and held the visitors to just one try on the last game, despite some strong play from both West squads who never gave up – a great credit to their club and many thanks to West for bringing all their players and supporters through to City on not the brightest of Sunday mornings.
