The Hoops kept the recent unbeaten run going but had to settle for a point at the Sports Village against Bridge of Don Thistle. The side had met at IMP a fortnight earlier with the Hoops taking the points with a solid 2-0 win, and another win looked on the cards until a late equaliser earned Thistle a share of the spoils. The visitors probably edged the first half although clearcut chances were at a premium and the opening 45 ended goal-less. The early stages of the second period was mainly confined to the middle of the park with neither side creating much but after 63 minutes we took the lead out of nothing. A completely duffed free kick was knocked into the path of Sam Robertson and he took a touch and slipped the ball past the advancing Shearer into the bottom corner. From then on Thistle had the majority of possession, and although they weren’t creating too much from open play they were a threat at set pieces, one seeing a downward header bounce up and off the bar. It looked like we might just about hold on and take the points but with 84 minutes on the clock that changed. A long punt up the park cleared our back four and landed at one of no fewer than 3 Thistle players who looked like they were in an offside position, but the flag stayed down. The ball was crossed in and although Bell did well to save the header Burnett was on hand to smash in the rebound from 6 yards. It was a disappointing way to drop two points but the home side were certainly worth their point.
