Another fantastic day for the Mitch Todd 7s 2019 competition at Earlsdon RFC.
Despite a number of local teams dropping out at the last minute, Steve Clarke still
managed to muster up 10 teams, the teams were put together by friends, a Gym team, a team from Wales & England Deaf, a number of local teams and three teams from Earlsdon. Despite the hard ground and a couple of heavy showers the skill level gets better every year.
The overall winners of this very popular tournament was “Rosie’s Rainbow 7s”, who retained the trophy after winning it last year. They were too strong in the final for “The Swedes” from the Apollo Gym.
A brilliant touch from the three winners Rosie’s Rainbow7s, Keresley RFC, Wales & England Deaf and the Warks society of Refs who all donated their prize money back to Rosie’s Rainbow Pantry Charity.
A large crowd turned up to support the very popular Rosie’s charity, to keep the crowd happy, there was a bar ran by Earlsdon, a Coffee stall, a Physio tent, a Toy Shop, Tuck Shop, Cake Stand, Burger Bar, a very large leg of Beef on the spit that was very popular, a Brownie Box, Pizza Oven, Teezers Golf practice, a Gin and Prosecco bar and a Wasps Skill Set for youngsters.
A free and easy, live music and then a DJ set kept it lively until the early hours.
Overall a very good day !
Special thanks to The Warks Society of Referees, Steve Clarke, RORY Fisher, Connor Price, Rob Fisher, Tom Clarke and everyone else who did their bit too make the day a success.
See you next year !
