Last weekend a team of volunteers gave the clubhouse and grounds a bit of a tidy up and a spring clean.
The weekend was sponsored by “Nat West Rugby Force” who provided funds to help many clubs across the country tidy there clubs up or complete a project.
We had volunteers from the Mini & Juniors section and their parents, First & Second XV Players, one of the coaches, some committee members and a team from Jason Lewis’s training camp !
The interior work that was completed included the cleaning of the main showers , corridors, cleaning changing rooms, painting the main changing room, scrubbing the stairways front and back and jet washing the decking.
The exterior work included laying hard wearing rubber mats down in the path from the clubhouse up to the 2nd team pitch, cleaning up the mud and debris from the main car park, litter picking, moving the bike rack and fixing unstable slabs, cleaning and staining Pups Bench, moving a lot of unused debris and old training stuff off the site, moving two sleepers up to the top of the car park to stop people parking on the grass and strimming and cutting large areas of weeds, nettles etc etc.
Tea, squash, bacon and sausage batches were provided to the work teams expertly cooked by the Lady Chef !
The volunteers done a great job but there is still a lot of work to do before the start of the season.
