Ks do it again

Development side stutter
A mixed development side with Chris Scott, James Payne, Josh Meszar, Paddy Ryan, and Steve Meszar as the elder statemen ( Manager Mick Roberts on the bench) had a frustrating evening at Berkswell and Balsall, on a smoke smelling, cold, damp evening, against arch rivals Keresley who give them their due had an equally young side out and it was a fast, frantic unstructured game as you'd suspect ! Earlsdon playing down the slope had all the pressure and a Chris Scott penalty was all the reward they had to show for 20 minutes camped in the opposition 22, with good territorial advantage given away with penalties.
The wet cold evening wasn't doing much to warm the assembled masses and the second half was more of the same; but Ks seemed more up for it and were tenacious in the tackle and breakdown area if slightly illegal - but if you can get away with it ! Keresley some how snaffled the ball at a breakdown and attacked down the blind side wing scoring under the posts to take the lead 7 - 3. Earlsdon looked dangerous and a clever grubber by Rhys Roberts back from injury nearly put Scott in but he was adjudged offside and frustrations that were simmering all night came to a head in a couple of handbagged flash points with a kicked penalty for Ks giving the game and interesting last 5 minutes with a converted try to draw the Final ... It was never to be and Keresley maintained their 100% record over Earlsdon in this abbreviated version of the game and held the cup aloft with the applause of the defeated side echoing round the dark, dampness of the November night.
