A beautiful afternoon housed this fantastic event; Earlsdon U8 Plains versus Earlsdon U8 Bogeys.
The sides were a mix of Under 7’s and 8’s players. However the Plains started the strongest with the team stringing a lot of great passes together, Adrian Henderson in particular showing brilliant handling skills. However the Bogeys got 2 tries over the line through Alfie Blundell and Joseph McCreath. Alfie’s try was preceded by some brilliant running and tagging. Barney Leeks provided the assist for Joseph to go over. Both sides were playing fantastically showing brilliant running and handling skills.
Half time: Plains 0-10 Bogeys
In the second half there was a flurry of tries meaning the spectators had a fantastic time supporting the 2 teams. It was the Plains who started the strongest with Xorin Brown running the length of the pitch, dodging tackle after tackle to put the ball down. The Bogeys struck back with Ben Thompson finishing off a great passing move. Then however Xorin scored another after his own team’s passing move. The boys were playing in great spirit and showing the Coventry players how it’s done. The Bogeys then scored 4 more tries with Ben Thompson completing his hat-trick and Jude Ward also scoring. Adrian Henderson then went over for the Plains completing a brilliant afternoon for him. Sadly though that was the end of the try scoring for the Plains. The Bogeys then ended the game with 3 fantastic tries from Ben Thompson, Finley Connelly and Finley Geaney. The Referee blew the final whistle meaning the Bogeys won 45pts to 15pts.
Coventry then lost a thrilling match 26-27 meaning they’re not as good as the mighty red and whites!
