Saturday 29th December saw the short walk across the road from Harlequins Stoop to Twickenham Stadium for the yearly Big Game Series outing, which is now in its eleventh year. This year saw Quins playing against Wasps, their longest standing rivalry of almost 150 years.
This year Eastbourne Under 9's were selected to play on the Hallowed Turf of England Rugby during half time of the game, if that was not enough they played in front of a almost sold out crowd of 82,000; a moment that we are sure players, coaches, parents and guardians will hold fond memories of for the duration of their lives.
Selected to play against Old Alleynians, the game was as closely contested as the main game being played out by Quins and Wasps. The final score being 2 -1 to Old Alleynians, Eastbourne's only score coming from aptly named Hayden Bourne, again a moment he and his family will never forget.
Well done to all players and coaches for representing the club so amazingly well.
The final match score for Big Game 11 was Harlequins 20 - Wasps 13.
