Club Update

East Kilbride Rugby Club have become aware on Wednesday 7th October that an academy player has tested positive for COVID-19.

East Kilbride Rugby, under the guidance of our COVID Safety Coordinator Bruce Beggans, acted immediately and have been in contact with Scottish Rugby and will continue to work closely with the governing body throughout this period.

The COVID-19 response group have made the decision to suspend all rugby activities at the club with immediate effect until further notice. This will allow a robust risk assessment to take place thereby ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all our players, coaches, members and volunteers.

Any player affected by this has been contacted by our parent rep this morning and signposted to guidance issued by NHS Scotland to self isolate from today's positive result date.

We will of course issue more information about the resumption of activities when this information becomes available.
We would also like to wish the player a speedy recovery on behalf of everyone associated with East Kilbride Rugby Club.
Should anyone have any questions, please do not hesitate to email president@ekrfc.co.uk.

Kind regards,
East Kilbride Rugby COVID Response Group
