A blustery day greeted us at the college today as we got our home games underway for the 17/18 season. Following the disappointing performance at Sprowston in midweek Hayden, Morgs and new signing Ben Cissell came into the squad with Luca, Jordy and Fernando making way.

Acle have been in transition during the summer but were still able to boast more than a few players who had been involved in their First Teams pre-season with their senior side without a game.

With the wind at our backs we started the game in a much more positive manner than midweek and were immediately on the front foot with George seeing an effort sneak wide in the opening minutes. The lead however only took 5 minutes to appear when good work between George and Brad saw the ball find Morgs who twisted and turned his man before finding the corner for his first goal for the club. The second followed shortly after as more good play between the front men allowed him to find the back of the net again from 12 yards. George then opened his account for the season when he slid the ball the ball home from 12 yards and Jahi then made it 4 after 20 minutes when he broke away and slotted under the keeper.

The chances and goals were coming thick and fast and Raffa soon made it 5 when he was played in on the edge of the box before finding the net and Morgs then rounded off a deserved hat trick with just 35 minutes played. George got his second with a close range header to make it 7-0 at half time!

Hayden, Ben and Rob were introduced from the bench 5 minutes into the second half and with the wind gusting in our faces the free flowing football had changed to ensuring a solid clean sheet and protecting a couple of people with knocks. There was still another goal to be added when Raffa cut in from the right and smashed home with his left foot.

Acle did carve out a few chances in the second period with the wind at their backs and Easton throwing men forward for more goals but there were to be no further additions to the score and we comfortably saw the game out.

A polar opposite performance from midweek and good to get the first three points of the season on the board. We now move on to Caister next Saturday.
