It is with great sadness that the Ebbw Vale RFC community mourns the passing of a deeply respected Life Member, tireless volunteer, and true club stalwart, Alan Morgan.

For years, Alan was an indispensable fixture at Eugene Cross Park.

He was club treasurer for many years and also set up and ran the club Vice Presidents group which is still a big part of the club membership today.

Alan will also always be fondly remembered as the club's dedicated scoreboard operator. He took his roles at the club seriously, but he always had a warm smile, a quick bit of banter, and an unwavering love for the Steelmen that could brighten up even the coldest, rainiest winter afternoon

Alan’s love for the club went far beyond match days. He wanted the best for Ebbw Vale, which is why he and Colin Brennan put so much heart and hard work into fundraising, sourcing, and installing our modernised scoreboard. Every time we look up to check the score, we will see Alan’s dedication and legacy written in those numbers.

Men like Alan are the heartbeat of Welsh club rugby. His unwavering commitment, character, and love for Ebbw Vale RFC will not be forgotten. The club extends its deepest condolences to Alan’s family, friends, and everyone in the wider Ebbw Addicts community during this difficult time.

Rest in Peace, Alan. Once a Steelman, always a Steelman.
