The Steelmen start their 2026/27 Super Rygbi Cymru campaign with a home fixture against Swansea RFC at the CiNER Glass Community Stadium. The fixture will see debuts for starting outside half Kai Kinsey and for full back Devon Shorney from the bench. Ethan Phillips will captain the team with the game also seeing the return of Chad Thomas to Steelmen colours.
Jason Strange has been pleased with the preparation during preseason and is looking forward to the season ahead, "Preseason has gone very well. The players attitude, application to training and willingness to learn have been particularly pleasing. We have challenged them to keep developing our game, take greater responsibility and build on the understanding they already have of one another. There have been encouraging signs in our preparation and the challenge now is to carry those habits into competitive rugby."
The last meeting between the two teams saw the Steelmen take the spoils with a last gasp 34-33 victory at Broadacre from a last minute try scored by Ieuan Morris. This afternoon's fixture will be just as entertaining.
