At last season's Junior Section presentation Club Chairman Paul Firth announced that Chris Roberts would be recognised for his contribution to ERUFC and Rugby in Eccleshall and awarded Honorary Life Vice Presidency.
Chris has been a stalwart of ERUFC for well over a decade, driving forward age grade rugby at our club.
Chris as taken on a number of roles within our Junior Section since he stepped over the line in 2012 and became a rugger ratz coach. He has coordinated our junior fixtures since 2015 and has also been Vice Chair and Chair of our Junior Section.
Chris's has given up a lot of his own time to get ERUFC in to local schools, organising megafests, attending school fetes and running coaching sessions.
During the COVID lockdown Chris ensured the spirit of ERUFC was clear for all to see organising an online presentation event for the whole junior section and coordinating charitable activities ensuring those home schooling had IT equipment.
Last Sunday 40 invited guests come together to honor and celebrate Chris's efforts.
Many of his fellow coaches and some of those who had played for his team were in attendance.
Following some well chosen words from Chairman Paul Firth and former Junior Chair Deon Volk Chris was presented with a token of the clubs appreciation by fellow Honorary Life Vice President Ian Bradford.
