The Frank Woodcock Spirit of Rugby Award is launched and nominations open this weekend

The Award embodies the principles Big Frank held dear and will ensure we all remember & celebrate the massive contribution he made to our club

Following the untimely death 12 months ago of our friend and fellow " Ranger " Frank Woodcock ERUFC decided to create an award in his memory.

The Frank Woodcock Spirit of Rugby Award we believe embodies the principles Frank held dear and will ensure that club members for years to come will remember and celebrate the massive contribution Big Frank made to our club.

Nominations are invited from across the club and further information is detailed below

What is the Spirit of rugby award - The award acknowledges an individual or group within Eccleshall RUFC who have shown commitment and enthusiasm for rugby, the club, team and team-mates, sportsmanship, courage and enjoyment of the sport.

Who is it awarded to – Any individual or group who are Eccleshall RUFC players, coaches, volunteers or supporters

Who is it awarded by – A panel of no less than 3 and no more than 5.

Who makes up the panel – The awarding panel consist of one or more members of ERUFC Club Committee and one or more member or representative of the Woodcock family

Who can nominate a nominee- Any Eccleshall RUFC player, coach, volunteer or supporter or the Spirit of Rugby Award committee themselves

Who should be nominated - Nominees can be a player or coach who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, a volunteer who has given his or her own time on or off the pitch to further the aims and objectives of ERUFC & the core values of rugby.

How should you nominate – Nominations should be in written form of no more than 200 words, outlining why the nominee or nominees should be awarded the Frank Woodcock – Spirit of Rugby Award, particularly focusing on what makes them stand out above others who give their time to our club.

What is the nominating period - Nominations will open on the last Saturday in March and run through until the fourth Sunday in April.

Nominations should be submitted Club Chairman Tim West (westth@hotmail.com) by 2200 on Sunday April 9th 2017.
