The Eagles' juniors were victorious in their White Rose World Cup Tournament last Saturday!

Saturday 8th of June and two sets of vibrant and excited young footballers took to the field in the White Rose World Cup Tournament. The U8's performed extremely well as Eccleshill Eagles and Eccleshill Hawks both won their respective tournaments.

For Gareth Williams' Under 8's it was a case of seven games played and seven games won; having won their five group games, as well as being victorious in the Semi-Finals that followed the group stage. It was then onto the final in-which resulted in Williams and his young side lifting silverware!

He spoke about the tournament victory, saying; "It was a fantastic day. The boys played brilliantly and most importantly had a lot of fun on the day. Our junior teams are playing good football and attracting great local talent."

A statement that is very true and exciting for the future of Eccleshill United and its youth teams, and for those top talented youth players to one day progress into the Eccleshill United first-team and become the next Charlie Flaherty or the next Jake Thompson.

As said it was two Under 8 sides that won their respective tournaments, and the fellow side opposite to Williams' Under 8's - they recorded a similar route on their way to winning the White Rose World Cup Tournament. Having also gone unbeaten, but recorded a couple of draws on their way - ultimately being the second side to lift silverware!

All the players that participated in the tournament are a massive credit to the club and youth system - making everyone proud from the first team to all the junior sides, and making it clear that Eccleshill United is all one club.

The 2019/20 season will be a huge one for all connected at the club as not only will the media be bringing first-team news, but there will also be frequent news and updates for the junior teams - so you will never miss out on latest scores or more silverware!
