Edwardian FC Sports Partnership is a new Community Rugby initiative which will deliver a wide range of sports projects and supply quality sports coaching to schools and organisations in Solihull and the local area.

2019 - 2020 season has seen us launch our first School’s Participation Programme, actively going into to local primary schools and coaching the children of Solihull Tag Rugby. Since September 2019 we have rugby reached over 500 children and in 2020 we aim to reach a further 500. The programme presents a fantastic opportunity to build stronger links within our local schools and the community, deliver high quality sports provision and provide sustained support to the next generation of rugby players who could one day represent the club as a player, supporter or volunteer.

When we launched the programme the aim was to reach 1500 children by the end of 2020, encouraging children who haven’t experienced or thought about playing rugby the opportunity to try it in a fun, educational environment. Chris Shipway, programme lead

Sessions are predominantly delivered during curriculum time in the school calendar with a structured approach designed to introduce children to the skills, values and techniques involved in playing the game of rugby, in a safe and fun non-contact environment accessible to all.

As we look to expand our community work we are looking for individuals, businesses and groups who would like to sponsor this initiative. The Community Department gives back to a vast range of demographics and age ranges across the local community, and we would like to invite you to be a part of it.
