RFU release the new return to rugby roadmap! Grounds open again from 29th March

Edwardian FC are delighted that the RFU have now released guidance on the return to grassroots rugby, with an updated and new-look roadmap.

All being well, from 29th March community rugby will return to Stage ‘D1’ meaning that limited contact training can resume (excluding scrum+maul) and hopefully as of 26th April, we will enter Stage ‘D2’ where fixtures using the adapted law variations will be possible, hopefully leading to some compeative rugby it Edwardian's this season.
The updated RFU roadmap is aligned with Government stages of their own roadmap on easing restrictions and through May and the rest of the Summer will continue developing, moving into Stages ‘E1’ and ‘E2’ and eventually a full return without any restrictions (Stage F), all dependent on the national picture. You can catch the full update on the England Rugby website here.

Here at Ed's we can’t wait for rugby + other activities to resume at The Memorial. The committee, working with the OESC will be reviewing all of the RFU Guidance on the return to rugby to ensure that when we do come back to the club, we are doing so in a safe and appropriate manner so everybody can enjoy being back together whilst remaining sensible within any ongoing restrictions. It is our aim to have exact return dates for each section, and any relevant guidance to go with that, by Friday 12th March – so keep an eye out for that!

In the meantime, we really appreciate everybody’s support throughout all of the challenges that this pandemic has thrown at us, the club wouldn’t be much without the amazing #Ed'sFamily.

We can’t wait to see you all very soon!
