It was on a sweltering summer evening in 2013, in the bellows of the Egham Cricket Club bar, where Richard Margetts and Chris Lynch assembled a group of mates/players to present to them their vision. Those in attendance took little persuasion, and some hard graft and a few favours later, Egham Athletic FC was born.

Just months earlier Rich and Chris were 1st team Manager and Assistant Manager of Abbey Rangers FC, where over a decade Richard Margetts had taken the adult team from Sunday league to Step 7 of the footballing pyramid. However now the duo are writing a new chapter, where they reside as Manager and Chairman respectively of EAFC.

The inaugural season for Egham Athletic saw the club complete an undefeated campaign, claiming the Guildford & Woking Alliance Premier Division title and Surrey FA Junior County Cup.

In only their second season in existence Egham Athletic have already added the Surrey County Intermediate Western League Division 1 title to the trophy cabinet, and this group of mates don't intend on ending it there.
