Happy Trafalgar Day!

Gents,

This is an auspicious week. Today we remember Lord Nelson’s great victory over the French at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805, while even more poignantly on Friday we recall how on that day in 1415 Henry V with his little band of men smashed a far stronger French army in the mudy field of Agincourt. This is surely a good omen, as on Saturday we will be looking to emulate King Henry and smash Old Georgians on the fields of King’s Lane,

As all of you will be aware, Old Georgeians will be our sternest test yet. Like the French army almost six hundred years ago, O.G.’s will fancy themselves as the stronger side. Like that army, they are probably right. And like that little band of Englishmen all those years ago, we will want to make them think again.

You know the rest. Training tomorrow, Tuesday, 7pm King’s Lane. Bet there. And please let me have your availabilities or otherwise a.s.a.p. Numbers permitting, as before we will be playing a 2s game in parallel.

This is the big one. Let’s be counted and make it count.

Vice-Chairman EHRFC
