We presented a cheque for £300 to the ESA this week. It's our donation to help purchase a defibrillator to be located at Eldwick School. The defibrillator will be positioned in a place available for the whole community to use if needed in an emergency cardiac arrest.
As we use the school pitches all year round, it's very reassuring to know this facility will be on site. There is already a defibrillator in situ outside of The Eldwick Memorial Hall, so it's doubly comforting to know both our main pitch venues will be covered.
The defibrillator at Eldwick School is not yet a done deal though, so if you wish to make your own donation, then Google 'Just Giving' and search 'Eldwick School Association' to add to the 'Fight for Every Heart Beat' fund.
Meantime, here's a photo of Helen Willan receiving our cheque on behalf of the ESA, from Under 10 Eagles, Ben Pickles and Theo Leach. Go Eldwick!
Editors Footnote: This article subsequently appeared in the Bradford Telegraph and Argus and also the Eldwick Newsletter. Well done Vicki Leach.
