The Seconds like to bemuse and confuse with their form, so really it was no surprise that they should inflict a first defeat of the season on Hucknall 2. It seemed unlikely as the home team struggled to muster a decent total on a slowish wicket against an accurate attack. Step forward Taimoor Tasnim (released from Firsts duties) who showed what we know; namely he can hit a long ball. From an unhappy 125/8 in 41 overs he blasted his way to 39 in 26 balls with 2 6's and 3 4's. 163/8 looked healthier as the most consistent bowlers for the Seconds, M T Raza and Eddy George, cut in to the dangerous top order. The game was still on as Pete Hudson led the response but Taimoor was not finished. His ability to bowl a probing line to new batsmen came to the fore (10-1-22-4) and aided by two run outs the win was achieved. Hudson was left high and dry on 92. 9 wins this season is a good return with Gedling & Sherwood left to finish off.
