Ells u11s shine on a damp Bank Holiday

It was a strong first match of the season as Ellerslie comfortably beat a good Ruddington side by 66 runs on a wet and cold day. Ellerslie won the toss and decided to bowl. First Ellerslie wickets of their careers for Joseph and Jude, two wickets each for Dhruv (who also took a catch) and Arthur, and good economical figures for the rest of the bowlers, helped Ellerslie keep Ruddington to just 243.

Ellerslie then got off to a good start with the bat with William 11 and Jack 18 who together hit net 25 off their 4 overs. Then it was Zak and Joe’s turn to bat, scoring 8 and 6, respectively. There were over 15 extras in the partnership to take Ellerslie to 256 halfway through the innings. Dhruv and Jude were in next as the rain got even heavier. Dhruv smacked his first ball for four and at the end of their 4 overs Dhruv finished on 9 and Jude on 7. The final pair was Arthur and Sridhar who got over 50 runs as a pair, with Arthur hitting 27 and Sridhar 22 , meaning Ellerslie finished on 309 from their 16 overs.
