During the lock down Nick Wilson and his team of volunteers have worked tirelessly on our pitches to get them ready for next season and to try and get them to stand up better to the intense use they get in the season from our 20 teams, which is particularly difficult in the severe weather we've experienced in recent years.
The picture shows some of the work being carried out earlier this week.
Nick has asked us to pass on his thanks to the large number of people and organisations that have helped, including:
Mark Reeve - who made a significant and very generous donation towards the cost of the work
The Rugby Football Union and particularly Jason Bower - who also contributed to the cost of the work
The Hampshire Rugby Football Union and particularly Mark Castle, Terry Burwell and Ivan Torpey - for their ongoing financial support, guidance and advice
His team of volunteers - who work tirelessly each week on our pitches
Keith Kent (the former Twickenham grounds man) - for his continual encouragement and support and who commented what a forward looking club we are
Our players and supporters - who's fundraising helped meet the cost and who've also helped out as required when more muscle is needed
Southern Ground Care - who carried out some of the work for us, did an excellent job and commented on Twitter that we were a wonderful club to work with
