The Colts hosted Wimborne in their second league match and conceded 3 tries early in the game. Two of these were down to basic errors. It took 20 minutes for the Es to find their shape and rhythm and then they hauled themselves back into a good game. The pack had a lot of success around the fringes of the breakdown. The home side pulled back two scores through the forwards and the home side were only down 15-10 at the break. In the second half the Colts tried to play with more width. Wimborne applied pressure with their drift defence and forced handling errors amongst our back line. The game was finely balanced with both sides scoring. The Es adventure paid off and they took the lead 22-20. Unfortunately for Ellingham the match ended in a similar fashion to the start and a basic error was seized by the visitors to score a late converted try.
