Ely City wrote another great night into the record books by retaining the Cambs FA Invitation Cup at the home of Cambridge United. After last years exciting final we went into this one as bigger underdogs against a Histon side that had just won the Thurlow Nunn league and had beaten us twice in the league this season.

However the odds were defied and the Robins put in an outstanding display to claim the trophy for a second year running. A header from Ash Walter in the first half and a Jack Saunders stike in the second half was enough to claim a 2-1 victory with Histons consolation goal coming in the 93rd minute.
