EWW were at home against Odiham & Greywell thirds. Their skip called right and elected to bat on a slow but true wicket. A very good opening spell by Rae Lockyer ( 10-5-22-3) and an excellent one from Peter Duff ( 10-1-18-0) made runs difficult to get and set the platform for debutant and U15 Tom Duff ( 10-1-37-3) and Matt Bolland ( 9-0-39-1) to continue a fine team bowling performance. Odiham& Greywell finished on 139 for 8 including one run out ( skip Andy Stenning scoring a good 51 not out). A highlight of the innings was a stunning catch ( everybody's money was on the ball!) in the deep by skip Trev Foreman to remove danger man Cox.
Trev Foreman and Gareth Goodall opened the batting and young Tom Duff was soon at the wicket where he and Trev took the score to 85 before Duff was out for a hard earned 34. Angus Macleod joined Foreman and the run rate improved as he punished anything that was loose and the score accelerated to 120 when Foreman was out for 43 ( 5 fours). Rupert Brow then joined Macleod and they got the side over the winning line with Macleod finishing up with 34 not out ( 6 fours) and Brow on 8 not out.
Eastons earned 23 points and Odiham & Greywell 5.
