Skip Foreman lost the toss and Littleton elected to bat first. At 59 for 7 in the 21st over this decision was questionable. The superb bowling of Ben Stanbrough ( 10-5-15-4 ) and Rae Lockyer ( 10-1-41-3)tore the heart out of the Littleton batting and it was to their credit that they rallied to 97 for 8 and 154 for 9 due to good contributions from Veal (20), Barrow ( 16 ) and Rowe (33), who normally opened the batting, but arrived late due to work commitments. Trevor Yeates took 2 for 32, Bruce Hansen 0 for 34 and Trev Foreman 0 for 25.
Trev Foreman was bowled by Rowe for 5 but Dave Ling held the batting together in taking the score to 108 for 6 by scoring 56 (8 fours).Another wicket fell at 129 but Ben Stanbrough, playing his best innings of the season and the best shots of the match, took Easton over the winning line with a magnificent 57 not out (9 fours) with Trevor Yeates hitting the winning runs with a 4 through mid-wicket in the 31st over.
Easton picked up 22 points to Littleton’s 5 and Ben Stanbrough the man of the match (and the Pink Cap) award for his fantastic all-round performance.
Easton 2s have now finished their season with a very creditable record of having played 12 won 8 tied 1 and lost 3.
Trev Foreman thanks everyone for a very enjoyable season with some amazing highlights, the best of which was the 192 partnership put on by the brothers Lee ( Arthur 122 and Spencer 59) against Oakley 2s.
