Andover 333 for 1
Easton 255 for 9
Andover won by 78 runs
Excellent running between the wickets
Easton won the toss and elected to field first. Despite some good bowling from Jasper Hanson (2 overs, 1 wicket for 5 runs) and Daniel Claridge ( 2 overs for 7 runs) the teams 25 wides and only one wicket proved costly, allowing Andover to get to 333 for 1. There should be a special mention for Ioan McNaughton (year 2) for the accuracy of his bowling.
Not put off by the target, Easton batted with great vigour. There was excellent running between the wickets at the opening of the innings from Caitie Croft and Matilda Ashbee and the final paring of Ioan McNaughton and Harry Sykes. Jack Birch and Sam Mcleod provided a solid mid order partnership displaying a great range of shots against some challenging bowling,
There were many positive to take home from the match, particularly taking on an “A” strength team with over 60% of our team coming from year 3 or below. We have a lot to be proud of !
