Our final two awards of last year presented last weekend

The nomination for Jess shows that more than players can be nominated for the Awards
- Spencer Tindale - Jack Petchey Coordinator

The Jack Petchey Achievement Awards is a scheme which recognises outstanding young people aged 11-25 and are given to young people that have done something that deserves to be recognised and rewarded and for their hard work and positive impact in their community.

These awards are all about celebrating young people’s achievements and it was fantastic that one of the two awards went to not a player, but a young coaching assistant who we are honoured to have as part of our EIRFC rugby family.

As a Club, we have just been advised that a nomination that we submitted at the end of 2020 for a Leadership Award has been accepted and we look forward to receiving the certificate and paperwork and being able to present this award to the deserving recipient at a large Club event later this year.

Award nominations for 2021, are now being accepted and as a Club we are working on these, but if anyone has a club member they would like to put forward for something they have done outside of the Club, please contact Spencer Tindale for more information on the process.

Please take the time to read the commendations below and congratulate them next time you pass them on the playing field.

Joseph – U14s
Joseph has been playing for the club since he was 7. During this time, he has matured into a good leader and ambassador for both his team and the club as a whole. As a captain on the pitch, he demonstrates how to conduct himself in a competitive environment and galvanizes the team to produce the best performance possible.

Off the pitch he has supported developing players and role modelled of all the positive attributes expected of a team captain. Since his arrival at the club Joseph has always given 100% in terms of effort and commitment both in training and when playing matches. He has shown true commitment to the club when turning down a move to another club in favour of staying at EIRFC and supporting the developing team.

In his own words he says, "This is my Club. This is my family." Joseph has shown both commitment and dedication to the Club and we are pleased to acknowledge this by nominating him for this award.

Jess – U9s Coaching Assistant.
Jess assists with the U8s training every week, through wind and rain. She is also a great help on tour and is loved by our young players.
She is there every week to assist with elements of coaching that coaches often can’t pick up as well as increasing the U8s enjoyment!
Often helping them with 1:1 passing, and handling, as well as assisting with drills- instilling teamwork and sportsmanship.
