The U9s make a great start!

It may be a little dated but we are pleased to report the U9s were recently involved in their first tournament on Friday May 7 at Cheshunt RFC when they were pitted against the likes of Barnet, Cheshunt and Harrow.

The three U9s teams were involved in a series of five ten minute games played on four different pitches, and they did themselves and the club proud.

Head coach Terry Garrett said: “I was so impressed with our rugby superstars. It was an amazing effort, and the bravery and team spirit really shone through after what has been
such a patchy year on the training paddock. It was fantastic to see the kids grow in confidence with each game.”

“There was some incredible attacking and defending, and all the skills that we’ve worked so hard on in training were put into practice, and it was a joy to see. They were just amazing and I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of our little legends.”

The U10s coaches Jon Georgiou and Leighton Thomas were also present to lend a hand on the night, and they, too, were suitably impressed. In fact, the consensus was how far the players have come since they were first introduced to the game at U6s level.

The U9s again on their travels on Sunday 9 May, this time away to Letchworth, and Terry Garrett added: “What a way to round off the weekend with another great performance by the U9s. Their enthusiasm, growing confidence and sportsmanship is second-to-none. An enormous thank you to all of our parents for their continued and most fabulous support
