Final preparations are being made for another exciting season of deaf rugby!

I love every aspect of my England Deaf role. I am extremely pleased to carry on as vice captain for the next season.
- Danny Rowland (Vice Captain)

As we finalise plans for our 2019/2020 season, it still amazes us how many requests we get for games against EDRU men and women’s squads. These requests come from all over the world and from all types of community events in the UK.

The increased media activity over the past twelve months and especially the wonderful livestream footage created by ‘Cheersmate Productions’ has massively widened our foot print and enabled deaf rugby to be viewed on a national and worldwide stage. The last game against Wales Deaf Rugby was and remains on BBC iplayer and can be accessed 24/7 across the world. We are extremely grateful to Richard Jackson (Cheersmate) and his team for their fantastic support. We also have a raised profile embedded within the RFU news updates on the RFU website.

In addition to our community and grassroots program we are also planning to increase our international fixtures with hopefully (fingers crossed) playing in the first ever full xv womens international deaf game. We are attempting to play six mens international fixtures with hopefully a new format to the Wales internationals with one home, one away and one neutral venue. This final location will enhance the deaf rugby footprint in the northern hemisphere.

Our team of volunteers continue to work tirelessly to promote and grow our fantastic structure and are currently working hard to secure a major overseas tour in 2020. We are excited to confirm this venture and will hopefully be able to update all our followers in the very near future.
