Response to Guidelines released by ECB

Epsom Cricket Club -Update 16/05/20

Saturday 16th May, 10:28
Hi All

Hope you are keeping well and staying Alert!

Well the ECB have finally got their act together and published some guidelines around the ability for us to get back to some level of training. Its not going to be straight forward though as there are many conditions.

I have read the detailed document which is available on their website and it is now down to the committee to assess the art of the possible so we can get some cricket going again at the club.

NOTE: This is going to take a little time to organise and until then the club and the facilities, including the NETS remain CLOSED.

As I said in my last update we have already started the process towards a "Return to Train " we will now need to see how our proposal stands up against the guidelines, update our document, circulate and get approval from the board, then we can get going. Note if we cant meet the conditions we will have to keep the nets closed until further restrictions are lifted.

FYI One of the most challenging aspects will be supervision whilst facilities are open as we need to ensure conditions are maintained during play. If you as a member are able to help with such matters or with the organisation and running of a booking scheme for nets usage please get in touch with myself or Andrew Minhinick to volunteer.

I will release another update early next week to let you know our progress

Until then stay safe and alert and keep up the back garden and house corridor cricket.

HowZat!

Dan Berry

ECC Chairman.
