Typically, after a week where I genuinely couldn't remember what it was like not to be sweaty, heavy rain on Friday and Saturday caused the cancellation of both the 2s and the 3s games.
Woking however was fit enough for a delayed start and so the 1s got a game in and a great opportunity to create some distance between themselves and nearest challengers given the majority of games were off.
Epsom batted first in a 74 over match and made 168 from 37 overs before declaring 6 down. Ben Hudson continued his good run of form with 82 and Tendai Chisoro followed last week's century with a 60. In response, the Es dismissed Woking for just 95 in an excellent bowling display. Samuel the star, claiming 6-23. This win leaves Epsom in 2nd position and well placed to challenge for promotion as the season enters the final third.
On Sunday the Trust side took on Normandy. Epsom bowled first and found the going tough as Normandy posted an big total of 336-4. In response Epsom made 150, with Page top scoring with 70.
Despite the loss, it was a good opportunity for a number of younger players to get some match experience in, which will stand them in good stead for the future.
Next Saturday the 1XI host Staines & Laleham, the 2XI travel to Ashford and the 3XI host Dulwich.
