On a frosty morning at Valley End the TBs took on the other Surrey area division winners to see who would be crowned Surrey Walking Cricket champions.
Valley end 73 all out: TBs 158-1.
In the first game, at the beautiful Valley End ground, Valley End batted first and were unable to cope with the TBs stifling bowling and fielding and struggled to put up a decent score.
The TBs openers, Ian and Patrick, got the TBs off to a great start, which followed by steady batting by the two Dave's - Porter and Wheeldon - meant that the TBs cruised to an easy victory.
TBs 138-4 : Normandy 70 all out
Against a very strong Normandy side the TBs batted steadily for the first 12 overs with the game on an even keel. Then Steve and Dave Wheeldon entered the fray and took on the accurate Normandy bowling with intelligent batting to get the TBs to a very competitive total.
Normandy started strongly but then came the highlight of the whole tournament. Greg 'Mcgrath' came onto bowl and proceeded to take a hattrick, all bowled, all outswingers, pitching on middle and hitting the top of offstump!! Virtually unplayable at any level.
Normandy could not recover from this blow and further accurate bowling and outstanding fielding (great catch by Steve) meant the TBs won easily.
TBs 169-4 : Cobham 70 all out
Needing to win the final game to be sure of being crowned champions, the TBs took on Cobham, who had just lost two close games.
Ian and Patrick opened up and demolished the Cobham bowling setting up the TBs for a big score. Calm and smart batting by others, Richard and Dave Porter especially, meant the TBs reached a very daunting total.
Cobham lost wickets regularly and were never in the game. Fine bowling and fielding by Paul and sharp wicket keeping from Richard were key in ensuring that the TBs ran out easy winners.
Thanks to all 22 TB players, you have all contributed to this successful season.
Special thanks to Roger, Richard, John and Dave Porter for all the hard work behind the scenes and making it so enjoyable to play for the TBs.
