1sts in Good Position When Rains Come
Falkland 214 all out (44.5 overs)
(C.Nellies 44, D.Pearce 37, S.Meikle 33. A.Hogg 4 for 33.)
Arbroath 30 for 3 from 13 overs.
Falkland arrived at Arbroath on a beautiful Summers day and promptly won the toss and elected to bat first. Cameron Nellies got the visitors away to a good start scoring 44 from 44 balls before being bowled. Falkland then seemed to find the going much harder against the tight bowling of Chris Robb and Abbie Hogg. Steven Meikle Captain for the day and batting at number 6 made a quick fire 33 from 28 deliveries and then Overseas Amateur Darren Pearce made 34 from 43 balls. Falkland were all out for 214. Abbie Hogg returned bowling figures of 4 for 33 from her 9 overs.
After the break Arbroath's innings was quickly in trouble at 30 for 3 from 13 overs before a series of thunderstorms passed over the ground and together with the ensuiing poor light the match was abandoned.
